• Performance Beyond Books
  • One of the golden moments has added a feather to our crown, this year. Mr. Mukund Sarda, Dean, Faculty of Law, BVDU has been given the honour to deliver a lecture at the Oxford University. He spoke about `Managing information during terror attack – the case of Mumbai’ and earned a warm appreciation. It was attended by law students, lawyers, judges, academicians from 15 different countries. It was indeed a moment of pride for us.
We at BVDU are committed to develop our students as skilled professionals, good human beings and responsible citizens. Apart from routine academic exercises, we provide our students every opportunity to grow in the field of their liking. Extracurricular activities such as sports, cultural and social play crucial role in overall development of personality.
In academic year 2008-09, we had organized 114 games, in which 3,473 students and 228 teams had participated. 78 of our teams participated in the tournaments organized by other Universities. In individual category, 47 students won Gold medals, 41 won Silver and 12 won Bronze medals. In cultural events organized by other Universities and organizations, our students, comprising of 430 teams, performed in 134 events. In most of the events, our students’ performance was highly appreciated. As a special initiative, we have decided to make a provision to add 5 marks to the students who participate in different sports activities at University level.
